Peanut Butter and Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats

These peanut butter and chocolate Rice Krispies treats are a simple, nostalgic treat that never goes out of style. With just a few ingredients and a microwave, you can whip up a dessert that brings smiles to kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter + 1 tbsp
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 10- ounce bag of mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups rice Krispies cereal
  • cups chocolate chips milk or dark chocolate

Instructions

  • Melt the marshmallows: In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine peanut butter, butter, and mini marshmallows. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth (about 1½ to 2 minutes total).
    ½ cup creamy peanut butter + 1 tbsp, ¼ cup butter, 1 10- ounce bag of mini marshmallows
  • Mix in the cereal: Quickly stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated and combined.
    6 cups rice Krispies cereal
  • Press into pan: Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper. Press the mixture into the pan with lightly greased hands or a spatula.
  • Melt the chocolate: Add chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl with 1 tbsp of peanut butter and microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth.
    1½ cups chocolate chips
  • Top and set: Pour melted chocolate over the treats and spread evenly. Let cool at room temperature or chill in the fridge until firm. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

✔️ Lightly grease your hands or spatula to make pressing the mixture into the pan easier
✔️ Use fresh marshmallows for the best gooey texture
✔️ For easier cutting, run a sharp knife under warm water before slicing
✔️ Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes if you are short on time
✔️ Add a sprinkle of flaky salt on top of the chocolate for a sweet and salty twist
