Ingredients

Apple Crisp

  • 4 Honey Crisp Apples Thinly Sliced
  • 1 tbsp of Maple Syrup
  • ½ tsp of Cinnamon
  • ½ cup of Melted Butter Salted
  • ½ cup of Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup of White Sugar
  • 3/4 cup of Flour
  • ½ cup of rolled Oats
  • ½ tsp of Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp of Salt

Salted Caramel Homemade

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter cubed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp fine sea salt or to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  • If you are making the salted caramel, follow these instructions.
Add the sugar to a heavy saucepan set over medium heat. Allow the sugar to melt slowly, stirring occasionally with a heat resistant spatula to prevent burning. The sugar will clump at first and then gradually melt into a smooth golden liquid.
Once the sugar turns a rich amber color, carefully add the butter. The mixture will bubble. Stir until fully melted. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring constantly. Continue to mix until the caramel becomes smooth.
Add the sea salt and allow the mixture to simmer for one minute. Remove from heat and let the caramel cool slightly.
1 cup granulated sugar, 6 tbsp unsalted butter, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
  • In a separate bowl combine the melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until a crumble forms.
½ tsp of Cinnamon, ½ cup of Melted Butter, ½ cup of Brown Sugar, ¼ cup of White Sugar, 3/4 cup of Flour, ½ cup of rolled Oats, ½ tsp of Salt
  • Add the sliced apples to a mixing bowl and toss with maple syrup and cinnamon until evenly coated.
4 Honey Crisp Apples, 1 tbsp of Maple Syrup, ½ tsp of Cinnamon
  • Spread the apples into a greased 9X9 baking dish. Drizzle 3 tbsps of the salted caramel. Then sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apples in an even layer.
  • Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes until the top is golden and the apples are tender.
  • Once the crisp is out of the oven, drizzle with warm salted caramel and serve.

Notes

✔️ Slice the apples evenly so they bake at the same speed.
✔️ Do not peel the apples unless you prefer a softer filling. The peel adds flavor and texture.
✔️ Use cold or room temperature caramel. Warm it only slightly before drizzling.
✔️ Allow the crisp to cool for at least ten minutes before serving to help the juices set.
✔️ Add extra oats for a thicker and crunchier topping if desired.
