1/4 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Add dry ingredients: Sprinkle in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

1 cup chocolate chips, 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and serve: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

✔️ Use very ripe bananas: The darker and spottier the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be.
✔️ Do not overmix: Stir until the ingredients are just combined for a soft, tender texture.
✔️ Add-ins are flexible: You can substitute walnuts, dark chocolate chunks, or even dried fruit for the pecans and chocolate chips.
✔️ Check for doneness: Every oven is different, so begin checking at the 50-minute mark to avoid overbaking.
