Homemade Salted Caramel
Homemade Salted Caramel is one of the easiest and most rewarding recipes you can make in your own kitchen. It takes only a few simple ingredients and a few minutes on the stove to create a rich caramel that is better than anything you can buy in a store. The sugar melts into a golden syrup, the butter adds creamy depth, and the warm cream brings everything together for the smoothest sauce.
Ingredients Needed to Make Homemade Salted Caramel
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (room temperature)
- 1/2 tsp fine sea salt (or to taste)

Notes for Success~
✔️ Use a heavy saucepan for even heat and smooth melting.
✔️ Make sure your cream is at room temperature to avoid splattering.
✔️ Watch the sugar closely since it can burn quickly once melted.
✔️ Add salt in small amounts until you reach your preferred level of sweetness and saltiness.
✔️ Store leftover caramel in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
