Apple and Blackberry Walnut Crisp

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe
Apple and Blackberry Crisp

My apple and blackberry walnut crisp is the perfect and most simple fall recipe. There is no need to fuss with pie crust; just mix up the crisp crumb topping and bake. The apples are perfectly sweetened with a hint of maple and stay juicy in the crisp filling.

Easy Apple Crisp Recipe

Sometimes less is more and that is a fact with this apple and blackberry walnut crisp recipe. The apples are slightly sweetened with maple syrup and cinnamon. Then the crisp topping is made with melted butter for ease and everything comes together in minutes. Keeping the fruit filling nice and simple creates a delicious syrup when baked.

Notes For Success

Feel free to use whatever apples you prefer. Honey Crisp apples are sweet and crispy, so they are typically the ones I choose. You can also interchange the blackberries for another berry, like blueberry or raspberry. I used an 8×8 baking dish, which gave me a thicker filling and topping, but you can also use a 9×9 baking dish or 9×13, which will spread the filling and topping out a little bit thinner.
